EVO ICL
Clear Vision Without Limits
If you're tired of depending on glasses or contact lenses for clear vision, the EVO ICL might be the perfect solution for you. At North Park Ophthalmology, we're excited to offer this advanced technology that has helped thousands of people achieve crisp, clear vision and the freedom that comes with it.
What is the EVO ICL?
The EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a type of refractive lens that's placed inside your eye to correct vision problems like nearsightedness and astigmatism. The lens will sit comfortably inside your eye, working with your natural lens to give you clear vision.
It is a small, soft lens made from a biocompatible material called Collamer that's gently placed between your iris (the colored part of your eye) and your natural lens. The EVO ICL works by focusing light properly onto your retina, just like glasses or contact lenses do, but from inside your eye, where it provides consistent, stable vision correction.
This advanced lens doesn't change the structure of your eye or remove any tissue. Instead, it simply adds the right amount of focusing power to give you clear vision and greater visual freedom.
Benefits of the EVO ICL
The EVO ICL offers several advantages that make it an excellent choice for vision correction:
Outstanding Visual Quality
Many patients report that their vision with the EVO ICL is remarkably sharp and clear. The lens provides excellent vision in all lighting conditions, including at night, giving you confidence in any situation.

Quick Recovery
Most patients notice improved vision immediately after the procedure, with full results typically achieved within a few days. You can usually return to many of your normal activities within 24-48 hours.
Reversible Option
The EVO ICL can be removed at any point by your eye surgeon if needed. This flexibility gives many patients peace of mind knowing their options remain open.
UV Protection
The lens material naturally blocks harmful UV rays, providing an extra layer of protection for your eyes throughout your life.
No Daily Maintenance
Once the EVO ICL is in place, there's nothing for you to do. No cleaning, storing, or replacing like contact lenses. You can simply enjoy clear vision every day.

Who is a Good Candidate for the EVO ICL?
The EVO ICL might be right for you if:
- You're between 21 and 45 years old

What Happens
During the EVO ICL Procedure?
The EVO ICL procedure is often quick and comfortable, taking about 15-20 minutes per eye. First, you'll receive numbing eye drops to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. A small, temporary opening is made in the edge of your cornea. This opening is so small that it typically heals on its own without stitches. The EVO ICL is then gently folded and inserted through this opening using a special injector.
Once inside your eye, the lens unfolds and your eye surgeon will position it in the perfect spot. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the procedure is. You'll be awake throughout, but the numbing drops ensure you won't feel any pain. Our experienced team will talk you through each step, keeping you informed and comfortable. After the lens is in place, we'll check your eye pressure and vision before you rest briefly in our recovery area.

What is Recovery Like After EVO ICL?
Most patients notice improved vision immediately, with full results achieved within a few days. You'll need someone to drive you home, and you might experience mild discomfort or light sensitivity for the first day, which resolves quickly.
Your eye doctor will provide prescription eye drops to prevent infection and reduce inflammation. You can usually return to work and normal activities within a couple of days, though we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise and swimming for about a week.
Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your healing and ensure everything is progressing perfectly. During recovery, it's important to use your prescribed eye drops as directed and avoid rubbing your eyes.
Schedule an EVO ICL consultation at North Park Ophthalmology and take the first step toward the clear, freedom-filled vision you deserve.
